After emigrating with his parents in 1983, he was living in Austria. He started his flying career as a glider pilot in 1989. After graduating from the Austrian Airlines Pilot Academy he flew all types of the MD80 before transitioning to the Airbus A330 and A340. After spending a couple of years flying the cargo version of the Boeing 747-200F for Lufthansa Cargo AG, he returned to Vienna in 2004 and continued flying the A330 and A340 as Senior First Officer. On the very same type he started his second lease contract with Lufthansa, adding the new A340-600 to his licence, before in 2008 he stayed on a permanent contract with this largest german airline, this time flying the A319/320/321 family. For a short time he was also flying this type as commander for Lufthansa Italia, living in northern Italy at Lago Maggiore.

Currently he is flying the A320 family as a check captain with Condor Airlines, living in Potsdam near Berlin. He also graduated as an officer and military pilot in the Austrian Air Force Voluntary Reserve flying the Pilatus PC6 of the Austrian Army.

In the „lightweight sector“ he operates a DH 82A Tiger Moth since more than ten years, for two years he was also the display pilot of the former “AirmenBeans WingWalking Team” flying the PT17 Stearman with Peggy Krainz “on his wing”. He is a member of the British De Havilland Moth Club, and keeps himself busy with aviation history, especially with the fates of Czech pilots serving in the RAF during WWII. His current experience totals more than 13.000 flight hours.

He is a member of the Czech Historic Flight since 2002, displaying the DeHavilland DH82A Tiger Moth.
